Since third grade does not have any official homework, I know many parents still appreciate the option to work on skills at home that we are learning in the classroom. Every day I will be sending home the "homework & practice" page. Again this is optional so it does not need to be turned in or even completed, however it is good practice to get ready for their Topic tests. If you choose to have your students work on these practice pages I would recommend focusing on the front side. The front has what is considered the 'basic' skills for 'basic' understanding. The back sides have some higher order thinking questions, which are still great practice, but the students will probably need some additional parent assistance with those. The problems on the front side they should be able to complete on their own with very little to no help at all. I also try to send home their graded classwork on the same night so that they have good examples to look from if they forget what to do. I also reminded students our classroom website has some tips for how to solve some of these problems. Please email Mrs. Fry with any questions!
